Biography of Manon Rheaume

The dream of many young women was born on February 24, 1972, in Lac Beauport, Quebec, Canada. She goes by the name of Manon Rheaume. Manon Rheaume's astanishing achievment all began at the age of 3 years old when for the first time she put on hockey skates. Manon is the middle child of three, Martin as the oldest and then Pascal as the youngest. As Manon got older she would get in the goalie net for Pascal to practice on, this helped Pascal get to where he is know whitch is on the St. Louise Blues in the NHL, but also helped Manon to get to where she got. The pee wee international hockey tournament of Quebec, Canada, came quick for 11 year old Manon Rheaume as she was the first girl to play in this particular tournament with all boys. As Manon was getting closer to her dream, It was getting harder for her to make the teams that she wanted because she was a girl and that she was a goalie was making it even more difficult.

Manon Rheaume dream came in 1992, 1 when she was invited to participate in the training camp of the newest NHL team the Tampa Bay Lightning. Manon's extrordinary against the St. Louise Blues on September 23, 1992. When the game ended she was asked to play on the farm team of Tampa Bay, the Atlanta Knights, this was a great opportunity for Manon as she accepted.

Manon Rheaume then wrote a autobiography: Alone in front of the net, To tell young girls and women that, Yes it is possible!

When 1993 crawled around she was traded to the Knoxville Cherokees, of the ECHL. Manon attended 4 games with the Knoxville Cherokees, with the record of 2-0-0. During that seasom she was traded again to Nashvill where she played 4 games with the record of 3-0-0.
