Bootsie In Hawaii

In 2001 Bootsie was fortunate enough to spend a two week honeymoon on the islands of Maui, Kauai, and Oahu. Shocking as it is, this was Bootsie’s first time on an airplane. Or should we say her first eight times on an airplane. The only thing that bothered her was flying over the ocean and the forty-five minutes of turbulence that they had to endure just before they reached Maui.

The couple spent the first week in a condo on the beach near Lahaina. They did some shopping and exploring of the island. But mostly they just lounged around, glad that they weren't back at home worrying about everyday things.
One day they ventured out to the Maui Ocean center to see they marine life that was kept there. A Hawaiian band entertained the guests at the Center's cafe. They immediately recognized Bootsie and Gregg as a honeymooning couple (I can't imagine how) and sang The Hawaiian Wedding Song for them.

The next stop was the Holiday Inn on Kauai for a few days.

Bootsie refused to leave Hawaii without seeing a Luau. She was impressed with the stamina of the hula dancers and wished her own hips could move like that!

Bootsie spent the last two days of her honeymoon at the Outrigger hotel on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu. The beach was always full and the weather was always perfect. Well, except for that fifteen minutes when it kind of rained. No trip to Honolulu would be complete without a visit to Pearl Harbor.

On their way back to the hotel the couple took a walk past some nearby stores.
That's when they stumbled upon this sign for "Davey Jones Ribs". Gregg insisted on taking a picture.
Too bad it DAVY Jones' ribs weren't nearby!

Eventually Bootsie had to leave paradise. Although she was reluctant to return to the midwest in the dead of winter, she was anxious to get home and sleep in her own bed.
