BENN DUNN
Creator of Ninja High School & Areala
Ben created his independent comic company, Antarctic Press back in the mid-80's with titles that had a manga theme to them. Since then, the company had expanded with their blockbuster titles like MANGAZINE and GOLD DIGGER. Ben himself created NINJA HIGH SCHOOL and WARRIOR NUN AREALA. He is currently starting a new title called BENZINE.

Interview taken over the internet (June 2000).
- OKAY, BOTTOM LINE: JEREMY FEEPLE WOULD CHOOSE WHICH GIRL, ASRIAL OR ITCHY-KOO?
I think he would probably choose someone else. But, if it came down to it, he would probably choose Asrial over Itchy-Koo.
- HOW DOES NINJA HIGH SCHOOL V.2 OFFICIALLY FIT IN WITH THE ORIGINAL?
It takes place 5 years in the future. Which is to say, 5 years in NHS continuity.
- WHAT IS THE CURRENT STATUS ON THE AREALA OVA?
Currently in funding.
- WAS THERE ANY PROBLEMS GETTING THE RIGHTS TO DO AN INDEPENDENT GIGANTOR COMIC?
Nope. I was approached by Fred Ladd who already had secured the rights.
- IS IT HARD TO KEEP YOUR COMICS SINCE THEY ARE NOW ON A MONTHLY BASIS?
Yes, it is difficult because I want to keep the books fresh and entertaining. Coming up with new, interesting material is tough. Also, the daily routine of running Antarctic Press takes time away from my work.
- ARE THERE ANY PLANS TO RELEASE ANY MORE MANGA TITLES?
We hope we'll be able to. Stay tuned for special announcements later this year...
- WHAT DOES ANTARCTIC HAVE GOING ON IN THE FUTURE?
Concentrating on getting our core books out and a new concept called American Anime Garage Video.
