Mandy has always had a love for anime and animation. She started out as an animator, and is now doing voice-overs for Central Park Media. She has played Leelince from GARZEY'S WING, Tequila from KNIGHTS OF RAMUNES, and the twins Mimi & Nene from SLAYERS NEXT. But she's most well known for her multiple parts in REVOLUTIONARY GIRL UTENA as Juri and one of the Shadow Girls. Mandy has also done voice-overs for various other animation productions like FUNTERNET.

• WHAT WAS YOUR MOTIVATION TO GET INVOLVED IN ANIME VOICE ACTING?
  I was at an audition for another kind of voice-over work and some of the other actors there were talking about anime dubbing. And at the time I had just discovered Hayao Miyazaki's films and was becoming a big fan of his work. Plus it sounded like another sort of voice-over work that I'd enjoy trying to get into. Fortunately, one of these actors kindly passed along my tape to the right hands and gave me a nice referral so it was very lucky that I had a demo tape on me that day.
  
  
• ABOUT JURI, WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE HER PART WAS IN THE UTENA STORY?
  As a whole I can't say for sure what her part is in the program as I've only seen the first 13 episodes and a few episodes of the next story arc. In the summarizing episode 13, each character's duels are revealed to have a particular theme and Juri's theme was 'love'. She's a great character to play, very intriguing. She's been my favorite character to voice so far.
  
  
• HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT PLAYING SUCH AN ENIGMATIC CHARACTER AS THE SHADOW GIRL?
  They were described to us by our director as Greek chorus-type figures and the music and look of them informed me with the voice I came up with.
  
  
• WHAT DID YOU THINK OF YOUR ROLES IN AYANE'S HIGH KICK?
  Oh, well. That was my first anime job and it was alot of fun to do those voices and play very contrasting types. By mistake I was not credited on that show but I played the Mom and Tasaka, the first kickboxing opponent.
  
  
• WAS IT WEIRD DOING THE TWINS NENE & MIMI FROM SLAYERS NEXT AND WERE YOU AWARE OF THEIR PREVIOUS INCARNATION IN RANMA 1/2?
  It was really fun voicing those twins and using a valley-girl type of voice. Someone once mentioned to me that the twins were like a character called Shampoo.
  
  
• DID YOU ENJOY DOING THE HARD KNOX CHARACTER OF TEQUILLA IN KNIGHTS OF RAMUNES?
  I think that was a pretty tiny part, but sure, it was fun. It's good to play strong females.
  
  
• WHAT FUTURE ROLES ARE YOU SCHEDULED FOR?
  Something I've been looking forward to might be coming up but I can't say anything for sure about upcoming work until it's recorded or available. I've recently played two roles in a 2-episode show which is not out yet and I'm reluctant to say that title, too. But as soon as it's all out I'll try to get it listed on the Voicechasers on me or elsewhere on the Web.
