- WHAT FIRST ATTRACTED YOU TO DOING ANIME VOICE-OVERS?
A friend of mine just told me about, and I thought it sounded really cool. He gave me the name and number of the studio, and so I went and auditioned for it. I have been an anime fan for a long time. I grew up in a very small town in the back woods of North Carolina and a UHF channel out there played Star Blazers everyday.
- WAS IT DIFFICULT DOING BOTH MAMI AND HER ANDROID COUNTERPART IN SAILOR VICTORY?
Only during the marathon sessions when we were kinda pressed for time and I was switching back and forth between the two characters. I didn't do one pad and then the other. I was actually doing one record as one character and then the other so I was switching back and forth and fighting with myself. It was so much fun I. I loved it.
- WAS IT HARD TO KEEP UP WITH MOST OF THE FAST-PACED DIALOGUE IN ELF PRINCESS RANE?
Yes it was! When I first got the part and went home and got the script I felt like the Home Alone kid and went 'Aaaaugh'. (puts hands on sides of her face and looks shocked) I didn't have to push to much of my dialogue, into to speedy of a delivery. The guy who did Go actually threw a rib out in one of his sessions because he was talking so fast.
- WHAT WAS IT LIKE DOING A CHARACTER AS FAN-WORSHIPPED AS SKULD?
Oh wow! The pressure was on. I knew OH MY GODDESS was 'the' anime. It had to be very solid. I performance that had to be so true to the character. It was stressful. I really enjoyed it though. It was fun to do a 13-year old baby goddess, so to speak.
- WHAT DID YOU THINK OF YOUR PERFORMANCE IN SPIRIT OF WONDER?
I really enjoyed it. It was the first character I got to do that had any kind of a bite to it. It's hard to judge your own performance because there's no way you objective. But I've had alot of fans said that they loved it, and that's how it's judged is if the fans like it. I did enjoy kicking butt here and there.
- SHINESMAN IS CONCIDERED BY MOST OF THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SEEN IT AS ONE OF THE BEST AND FUNNIEST DUBS EVER. WHAT'S YOUR TAKE ON IT?
Absolutely hystercal! We had so much fun doing that one. I was really suprised when I got the role of Princess Sheena. I didn't think I had a chance at it. We did so many parodies in it. The whole thing was done when the American Godzilla movie was released, so we did the whole thing of dying in a Godzilla suit. And we did so many things in there not to please the producers but to please the fans. That's one I'm always gonna treasure because there was no pressure in it. It was just sheer fun.
- MIYU VS. BUFFY. WHO WOULD WIN?
Oh please! Miyu, hands down! Absolutely! Miyu's got everything, baby. And she's got Larva. That kicks Angel's butt any day!
