Tristian was a production director for ADV Films and did voice-overs for several of their titles such as Danbei in NEW CUTEY HONEY and Diol in SLAYERS. His most recognized part was as Gendo Ikari in EVANGELION. He is now helping out in the production of fansubs for Odyssey Anime and doing voice-overs for an upcoming computer generated feature titled II.

• WHAT GOT YOU STARTED IN VOICE ACTING?
  I started with radio drama back in the late '80s, and just the fact that I liked doing weird voices made me wonder if I couldn't make a quick buck off of it. Then, I moved to Houston in '95 and found an agent who wanted to use me for commercial work. And working at that particular agency was Tiffany Grant. She referred me over to A.D. Vision. They put me in SUPER ATRAGON and I did three voices for that one. Then they had me in DEMON CENTURY and I had alot of fun doing that. And I've been doing voices for them ever since.
  
  
• WHAT ADV RELEASES HAVE YOU PRODUCED AND/OR DIRECTED? WHAT DOES THE JOB REQUIRE OF YOU?
  I wrote the scripts for all six NUKU-NUKU episodes, and they were never used. I wrote the script for the first episode of MASTER OF MOSQUITON and the first two episodes of ORIGINAL DIRTY PAIR. Then I wrote and directed PRINCESS MINERVA, DARK WARRIOR, USHIO AND TORA, PANZER DRAGOON which I tried to save but it was a dog. I did GALAXY FRAULEIN YUNA, and the first four episodes of THOSE WHO HUNT ELVES. I had the opportunity to work with very talented people. It was unbelievably exciting the first time I started directing people and trying to get it to sound right.
  
  
• WHAT'S YOUR REACTION TO IN A RECENT POLL IN ANIMERICA THAT FANS VOTED GENDO IKARI THE 2ND WORST PARENT IN ALL OF ANIME AND NOT THE 1ST?
  (Laughs) I didn't hear about that! Well, obviously I have to work harder. There's very little else I can do because if I cook Shinji alive most people would probably cheer. I have for a long time wanted to go to a con with Spike Spencer (Shinji), and we were going to photo-op where I would put him over my knee and spank him. Spike is up for this, but we've never had the chance to it.
  
  
• DO YOU LIKE PLAYING CRAZY OLD MEN LIKE DANBEI AND DIOL?
  Danbei was real fun except he was a real throat-ripper. It was very difficult to do all that gravel in the voice. A dirty old man like Danbei is a character that comes along once in a while that you just gotta love. You get a chance to do alot of strange things. One of the old characters I've never been able to do is an old Yiddish man. 'Jews In Anime!'
  
  
• WHAT PROJECTS ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON?
  I've recently finished doing three fansubs for Odyssey Anime from the LUPIN III series which is wonderful.
  
  
• I HEAD YOUR INVOLVED IN AN INDEPENDENT ANIME-ORINETED PROJECT CALLED 'II'. WHAT'S THAT ABOUT?
  It's a CGI in the anime field. It's very interesting. I play the Emporer who wants to take over the universe. He's constantly fallowed by a group of minstrels who act as his own personal soundtrack. They sent me scripts and ideas and I record stuff for them on the computer for them.
  
  
• WHO DO YOU THINK IS MORE OF A LADIES MAN? KAJI OF GENDO?
  (Laughs) It depends on the lady. Gendo can get I woman who wants a man in power. Kaji is a 'devil may care' kinda guy who can get just about any kind of a girl. Gendo would never get Misato. Ritsuko, Ritsuko's mom, and Rei however!
  
  
• WHAT ACTING DO YOU DO ASIDE FROM VOICE-OVERS?
  I do some radio commercials in Houston. I'm doing an internet business involving my writings, singing, and audio presentations. I am also planning on doing some readings of science-fiction on audio. I also do readings for classes too.
