What is chaff?
After grain was harvested in Israel, they would pour it out on what was called a threshing floor. Upon this threshing floor, which were usually on top of hills, the wind would blow the wheat husks, or chaff, away and leave just the kernels of wheat behind. Chaff would be similar to the part of the popcorn that get stuck in our teeth and gums. It is worthless. This is what the wicked are compared to, this worthless, wind-blown chaff.
