White Picket Fence
To study the walls that surround my yard,
is to admire the vertical lines of white,
pointed at the top.
These barriers of wood inhibit the freedom
of my dog and my neighbor boy, Billy.
It seems silly, you know, to sit and
watch these white boards that are guarded
by tulip blooms at their feet.
But to admire the simple beauty of
this household artform is an experience
that is really worth sharing.
