Nicholas II: An example of the wicked perishing

Nicholas II was one of the richest men of Europe in his day. It has been estimated that he was worth one hundred and thrity million dollars, and possessed an income of a million dollars a month, or twenty-four dollars every second. He ruled one-sixth of the world's land mass. By the world's standards, Nicholas II was prosperous and successful. However, he was also a wicked , murderous despot. His prosperity met its sudden end on March 15, 1917, when he was forced to renounce his power to the rebelling military leaders of Russia. He and his family were imprisoned in a small house near the Ural Mountains. But his suffering did not stop there. Over a year after abdicating his rule, Nicholas II was shot through the heart at point-blank range in the cellar of the house on the evening of July 16, 1918. His family was also massacred that night in that cellar, being shot and gored to death with bayonets. Even the family dog was murdered. Once dead, Nicholas II and his family were cut apart and burned.
The wicked do not prosper. They will meet their end in perishing. Their prosperity is not guaranteed to last in the present, and definitely not for eternity.
