Les Folies Bergere - Review

I went to see Paul May in the Folies on November 25, Sunday. Peggy got me my ticket, front center. I could see everything, and feel every breeze of the costumes that the women wore. We met a couple of people from England. Very nice to talk to them. Thanks, Peggy, for talking to them.

The Folies depict women and their fashions from about the year 1920 through to the present. The costumes were breathtaking. And the adult version was not offensive. The women were beautiful, and the men were gorgeous. You can tell how much they enjoy their work by their faces and their movements. One guy sitting with us said we had the better seats. The only complaint about sitting so close, is my neck hurt from bending it back so much. But you didn't see me giving up my seat either. And the guys in the audiences were gentlemen when the girls came out topless. I was wondering before the show what would happen when they came out.

Paul's voice is great!! I have only heard him sing when I saw him in EFX, but he is a very good singer. In fact one song he did near the end made me cry. It had to be good to make me cry.

A few times when the girls came near the front of the stage I was afraid I would get hit in the head, but they were very careful. No one landed in my lap. And the one of the main men dancers had so much strength. When I saw him lift up one of the women, and held her up there with one arm, I just was amazed how strong he was. And the trust between them, and no one fell.

Two songs I thoroughly enjoyed were Pride and the one Paul sings that made me cry, it was a love song. I don't know the name but I loved them. Once the songs became familiar, like around the 60s, I started to get into the show. At one point Paul does a very good job of playing a nerd, but he is still cute doing it.

Wally is a juggler that comes up during the middle of the show, and he is a crack up. He is thoroughly funny. I don't know if all he did was a part of his act, or ad lib, but he was funny.

We met Paul after the show as he was rehearsing before the show. We didn't keep him, because it was getting late for all of us. We talked a little about my meeting him last year. Peggy took our picture. Hope it comes out.

I will definitely see the show again when going back to Vegas. Thanks, Peggy.
