December 13th
Newcastle 5 am FIRE ALARM
And train pix enroute to
STERLING, SCOTLAND

Late on Sunday, December 12th (the day after the wedding), Steve and I
drove back to Bristol (an hour), this time to the airport, and boarded an
EASYJET flight to NEWCASTLE, England.

Upon landing, we took a cab to the NEWCASTLE HOLIDAY INN to stay overnight

at the site of MONDAY, December 13th's PRESENTATION SITE.

At 5 o’clock AM, the FIRE ALARM WENT OFF!!!

Of course, we each delayed a bit – thinking it was some kind of DRILL
or something. But, we eventually figured out that it was a REAL ALARM,
and evacuated the building.

Because I FAILED to bring my camera with me when I evacuated the hotel, the pic above and the two pix below were taken by a guy who was smarter than me:
David Ayers, a Senior Analyst with banctec.co.uk
Thereafter, he was good enough to SEND THEM TO ME!!!

AS IT HAPPENS … there was NO FIRE!
Apparently, English Hotels turn off their “exhaust” fan system around 11 pm,
and don’t reactivate the system until around 6 am. [A money-saving practice.]
Consequently, if someone gets up and takes a hot shower before 6am,
the MIST from the shower can SET OFF THE FIRE ALARM! LOL

No pix were taken during the New Castle presentation. Thus, the rest of these pix were
taken while traveling to STERLING, SCOTLAND on the evening of December 13th:
