BODICES

Whether a Wench or a Lady, your bodice is likely the
most important part of your costume. Don’t skimp!
The better your bodice, the better your boobs, the better you’ll feel!

“Picadills”
BTW:
I strongly suggest you stay away from bodices
with “picadills” or “peplums” =
Flappy things at the BOTTOM of the bodice.

Unless you have a FLAT belly,
these suckers tend to stick out and/or curl up.

“Peplums”

The Black Rose

These pix make this bodice look great.
But it is only boned down the front lacings.
So, it may not give you the greatest
“push-up” effect.

For a CHEAP bodice, though,
this is my favorite.

From the Black Rose Page:
By far the most popular bodice we sell, the Wench Bodice is a standard, front lacing bodice. It is interlined in heavy canvas, and lined in and fully reversible to heavy cotton duck in a variety of coordinating colors. It is boned down the front lacings with coated 1/2" wide high carbon spring steel boning (1/4" wide is also available through custom order if you prefer less support). We have a wide variety of these in stock, but if we don't have the size/color you're looking for, we will gladly process your order as a custom order. Please email to inquire about available stock or custom orders.

MY BODICE
Another Bodice from
The Black Rose

This pic (at right) is bad …
but check out the description!
It sounds like almost
the same pattern as

Which means that THIS
is my currently
RECOMMENDED
BODICE!

Catherine Bodice
From the Black Rose Page:
Our Catherine Bodice is a heavily steel boned, highly versatile front and side lacing bodice with adjustable shoulder straps. It is made from a gorgeous brocade or tapestry bound with matching/contrasting bias edging. It is boned with coated high carbon spring steel in 12 to 14 places (depending on size) all around for amazing support (we encase 1/4" wide steel in the bias trim at the lacing areas and place 1/2" steel diagonally in the front and in 4 places across the back). It is lined in and fully reversible heavy cotton duck and interlined in two layers of heavy canvas for added support. Stock on the Catherine Bodice is VERY limited, but it is also available through custom order. Please email to inquire about available stock or to place a custom order.
GARMENT CARE: DRY CLEAN ONLY.
All Sizes............... $80

Ooh! Black Rose offers you a wide selection of FABRICS!

HERE’S A COUPLE MORE I FOUND.
Neither of them impress me more than the Black Rose ones.

Classic Bodice – $80.00
Crimson
Gypsy
Bodices

“Our classic bodice is designed to provide
the proper look for the Renaissance period.
The bodice is shaped to cinch the waist and
push the bosom upward to create a rounded
bustline peeking over the top. Extremely
supportive, this is a favorite among wenches
and ladies alike. Lacing at the front and each
side provide an adjustable and comfortable
custom fit. [I can’t see the side-lacing in this pic.]
Fully lined, reverses 100% cotton canvas duck
– your choice of color. This bodice is
quite durable and will provide years of wear.
1/2" flat steel boning at all openings.
Available with lacing at the shoulders for
added flexibility. Comes with black lacing.”

Brocade Bodice – $80.00
Medieval
Mayhem
Bodices

“Brocade Fabrics, sumptuous silver or gold trim,
superb engineering and refined design combine
to make this bodice a treasure that will last for years.
Lined in satin or taffeta – the four pieces are held
in place by spring steel boning.
Lacing of 52 grommets allows for a custom fit!”
