Documents taken from the official Missing Air Crew Report for the Sunrise Serenade show the firsthand reports compiled immediately after the crash to determine what had happened. Also included is a three-page German document and map showing the German's version of the downing of the Sunrise Serenade. A list is given of 274 different B-17's that served with the 452nd Bombardment Group. This compilation was meticulously researched to reveal the serial number, name, pilot, date, and final fate for nearly every plane.

Other features of this book include a separate list of over 270 plane names associated with the 452nd Bomb Group, a listing of all 250 combat missions flown by the Group, an organizational chart of the 8th Air Force, details of the Caterpillar Club that was established for airmen who saved their lives by parachute, and many other numerous facts pertaining to the 8th Air Force and the B-17 Flying Fortress in particular.
