The SUNRISE SERENADE - A World War II Bomber Crew Story Discover a time when the actions of the crews of World War II B-17 bombers downed behind enemy lines were an indication of their loyalty to their country. Like thousands of other bomber crews, the crew of the Sunrise Serenade endured on a daily basis a fear of death as they moved the War over and behind the German established ground lines of defense. After being shot down, worry, hunger, loneliness, and sickness then prevailed as many airmen struggled to survive in the prison camps or to remain hidden in the Underground. An uncertain future awaited these men as they daily anticipated the end of the War.
