The Church has lost its dignity;
It lacks superiority
In holiness and purity
In conduct and in norm.
The present Christianity
Lost its peculiarity
In race for popularity--
The Church to world conform.

Confessing in humility
our lukewarm inconsistency
Within the realms religiously;--
We're neither hot nor cold.
We fail to take it seriously
That sin brings human slavery
With the eternal penalty--
This is the law of old.

God's word declares emphatically
That faith will be a scarcity;
This fact should cause sobriety;--
Soon time will be no more.
Repentance in sincerity
Is God's appointed remedy
The need is grave exceedingly;--
The Judge is at the door.

Fufillments prove repeatedly
Divine infallibility
Predictions state remarkably;
"Four Horsemen" on the way.
Hell's fireworks of enmity
Endangers all humanity,
The nations mark indignantly
To Armageddon Day.

Where is the rock security
For us and our posterity
In present day apostasy,
With world adrift at sea?
The Lamb of God of Calvary,
The Christ with all authority,
The King in all His majesty;
That Christ is all to me.

            The eeriest thing about this poem is that I found it among lots of papers in old bibles at an antique store, and some of these papers are dated from the 40's.  We look at today as the apostasy and back then as the "good old times."  If they thought the apostasy was present back then, in a time of purity compared to now, what does that say for our present time?  How deep in sin are we really?  How much worse has our time grown?  And the biggest question of all:  How much longer will the Lord wait before HE RETURNS????
