December 10th |
Mark took me to a Benefit “STEAK DINNER” at the “TOR RUGBY CLUB” (as in the “Glastonbury Tor” Rugby Club). PLZ NOTE: “RUGBY” is the English version of the American game of “FOOTBALL.” However, RUGBY is played without all the PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT that American football players wear! |
Visit the Tor Rugby Club Website! |
MARK ORGANIZES these BENEFIT DINNERS for the CLUB:
Each person pays 10 to 12 “pounds” for the dinner (approximately $20 to $24).
And the STEAK DINNER profits help pay for the club’s various team expenses;
funding all the uniform and operational expenses of organizing and running teams of
7 y/o KIDZ to “VETERAN” Rugby teams.
It’s really quite a well-organized system of funding!
the “ORGANIZER,” Mark also is the … sort of … “MC” for the night. |
ANOTHER Money-Earning Activity held on STEAK NIGHT is the
HEADS & TAILS GAME!:
Everyone who wants to PLAY the HEADS & TAILS (H&T) game, puts a POUND
(approximately $2.00) into the H&T bucket.
Then, when the game starts, all who’ve paid to play STAND UP.
Before the first COIN TOSS, the folkz standing put their HANDS on either their
HEADS or their BUTTS. Then, a coin is tossed!
If the coin lands with HEADS up, all those with hands on their butt sit down.
If the coin lands with TAILS up, all those with hands on their head sit down.
Play continues until there is ONE WINNER.
The winner gets a portion of the H&T collection. The other portion goes to the Club.
Waaaaaay Too Much Funnnn!!!
