I. Worship seems to be something that you know exactly what it means, but you can’t possibly describe it completely with any other words. Worship is often associated with bowing down (Daniel 3:6; Matthew 4:9). Worship can be given to anything – idols, angels, men, or God (Revelation 13:4; 22:8-9). Keep in mind that the disciples worshiped Jesus even though some doubted (Matthew 28:17). II. Romans 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Bear in mind that Old Testament worship was primarily based on sacrifices. You might even think of keeping the Sabbath day and Sabbath year as a sacrifice, especially for farmers (Exodus 20:8-11; Leviticus 25:3-4). III. A. Psalm 95:6 Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the LORD our maker. Think of all the things you can do just with your hands: clap your hands, raise your hands, hold hands, sign language, actions, shake a shaker, and on. III. B. Thinking about God and forming your beliefs might qualify here. III. C. Be sure to talk about the second question before filling in answers on this one. Both questions should be considered together. Though we can’t really say that music, art, dance, and drama are purely emotional, they do express emotion. When you’re sad, you cry; when you mourn, you wear special clothes (black clothes for a funeral). When you’re happy, you laugh. When you are angry, you destroy things (sometimes). III. D. Philippians 2:5-8 5 Your attitude should be the same that Christ Jesus had. 6 Though he was God, he did not demand and cling to his rights as God. 7 He made himself nothing; he took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form. 8 And in human form he obediently humbled himself even further by dying a criminal's death on a cross. Mindset – James 4:15 Instead, you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that." One way we use our will is by agreeing with God that the things we did that were wrong are wrong. III. E. The fruit of the Spirit is in Galatians 5:22-23. What commands has God given us? Our spirit is one way through which God can speak to us. It's hard to understand because it is beyond what we can know except by experience.
