CHAS’ & SUSAN’S EXCELLENT UK ADVENTURE Day One EVENING … continued!

Carol (“Lustful Leather Wench Knickers”), John (Carol’s husband), and Toni (“CloseWings”) at last arrived. We HUGGED and became better acquainted while imbibing at the Hollybush. Susan surpriZed the FLIP out of me, by having an ALE! (For those who don’t know it, SUSAN DOES NOT DRINK!)

Prior to actually meeting them, I knew that Carol and John lived in “Liverpool” (the Beatles city!!!!). But, because she was so willing to come to London to meet me during our visit, I ASS-U-ME’d that Liverpool was NEAR London. Like a “suburb” or something. Imagine my surpriZe when I learned that Liverpool is NOT – at all – near to London! In fact, Carol and John had never BEEN to London before! They had to take a 4-hour train ride to get there, and book a hotel room for an overnight stay, all to come meet me and Susan!

I was flabbergasted to learn this. And, even more flabbergasted to realize that, in addition to flying in from the Netherlands, TONI had then incurred the same train trek/hotel expense, all to come meet me and Susan!

This pic o’ the group was actually taken outside a LATER pub, The Duke of Hamilton. But, I thought it might be gude to put everyone’s pic HERE. Standing: Carol (who HATES to be photographed), her husband, John (both from Liverpool) & myself. Sitting: Toni (from the Netherlands) and Susan.

After a round at the Hollybush, we moved on to another pub.
(The whole “Pub Crawl” thing, don’t cha know!)

The Old White Bear Leaving the Hollybush, we trekked a few blocks to The Old White Bear. All imbibed a bit (‘cept SUSAN!) And, our friends enjoyed some food.

There were MANY other pubs for us to visit. But, we ended up going to only one more, The Duke of Hamilton. Because of our adventures there, we stayed put for several rounds … and, hours!
