CHAS’ & SUSAN’S
EXCELLENT
UK ADVENTURE
Day Two … Continued!

The Sherlock Holmes Museum
was FUN even before we arrived!

Because of the LINE (“queue”) depicted by their web site,
I booked our tour tickets on-line, months in advance.
There was NO LINE the day we visited.
Maybe, there are long lines on most other days.
I don’t know!

What was “Fun”
before we got there?

Once I paid for our tour,
they Emailed us a TICKET.

This is it!

I think it’s marvelous!

Private washtub facilities!!!

And, personally signed
by Mrs. Hudson!!!

The STUDY

Sherlock Holmes &
Doctor Watson lived
at 221b Baker Street
from about 1881-1904.

This is the “first floor”
(US = “second floor”)
Study, which
Holmes & Watson shared.

Folkz well-versed
in Holmes trivia
will easily recognize
many of the objects
displayed in the Study
(and elsewhere).

Personally,
since I’m NOT
a “traditional”
Holmes-reader,
I was most
interested in all
the arcane
and ancient
medical apparatus
distributed here
and there!

We repeatedly had to remind ourselves that
SHERLOCK HOLMES DID NOT REALLY EXIST!!! LOL!

“VIGNETTES”

There were terrific
“scenes” set up
(using what looked to be
old Madame Tussaud’s figures),
all throughout the
museum’s several floors!

Again, I’m not well-read
when it comes to all
the Holmes stories.
But, I still found
all the scenes
wonderfully
interesting and fun!

This vignette is from “The Musgrave Ritual,”
and it was my favorite!
It was terrifically SPOOKY to
look up at the life-like faces
peering down from the attic!!!

From
“The Missing Three-Quarter”

This scene was equally spooky!

Although the figure of the
“Missing Three-Quarter”
football player was rather
“hokey” … the figure of the
dead wife beneath the fine mesh
was really eerie!

That’s IT, for Sherlock Holmes!
Next, SUSAN & I went to The Regents Park OUTDOOR THEATER!
