CHAS’ & SUSAN’S |
In 1973, when I attended Westfield College (for 3 weeks, between my junior and senior high school years), I “majored” in Art History and Theater. Since I was MOST interested in theater, the majority of my activities involved attending shows. I attended several theaters … the Globe included! However, NONE of the multitude of London theaters had shows that were as fun (or as well-performed) as the one I saw at the Regents Park Open Air Theater.
Sooooo … apart from the Hampstead Heath Pub Crawl, the Regents Park Open Air Theater was the ONE OTHER “repeat” thing I wanted to do when visiting London in 2002. And, given the fact that Susan and I MET only because of our mutual interest in Theater, I knew she’d enjoy this outing.
We had our choice between Shakespeare’s “As You Like It” and “Oh What A Lovely War.” I didn’t know anything about “Oh What A Lovely War.” So, I would have scheduled us for the Shakespeare gig. But, when I notified Susan of our choices, she LIT UP!
Wow. She was so right! (Oh, surpriZe!)
Although Regents Park is within walking distance from Madame Tussaud’s and Sherlock Holmes Museum, we popped back to the Admiral to refresh ourselves before attending the theater.
(Happy Bus Pass!)
