CHAS’ & SUSAN’S
EXCELLENT
UK ADVENTURE
Day Three … Continued!

After leaving Westminster, Parliament, and Big Ben (they are all in the same place), we got back on a BUS and traveled quite a distance to the area of the Tower Of London and Tower Bridge.
It had been a LONG day! So, we hunted up a PUB before going to the Tower.

Although Day Two passed without Susan imbibing any alcohol (Hey! I kept track for youz guyz!),
by this time, she was ready for another “half pint” of ale.

I bought her a PINT!
(Ha! She drank it!)

Being a LUSH, I finished my G&T long before Susan was even half-way through her pint.
And, since I grokked that she wasn’t particularly interested in the Tower of London,
I asked her if I should visit it while she stayed and finished her pint.

So! Hey, Susan! Here’s what I saw!

Tower Bridge

First, I walked WAAAAY
down the street the Pub was on,
ending up at Tower Bridge.

I would have
entered the Tower
area earlier,
but parts of it
were CLOSED.
(I have no idea WHY.)

From the bridge, I managed to get down to the FRONT of the Tower building

Traitor’s Gate” is at the “FRONT”
of the Tower (accessed via the “moat” on
the River Thames side of the fortress).

Traditionally, prisoners were brought in by boat.

It’s really eerie to look down at it … imagining what it must have been like to enter there.

Next, I finished walking along the “front” of the fortress, and reached the Southeast corner.
There, I took a Mini-Vid o’ the building.
Go To the MINI-VID!

This is a “marriage” of TWO pix I took, of the BACK of the London Tower,
as I returned to the Pub where Susan was waiting (and swilling ale).

Although I don’t particularly plan on EVER fussing with a visit to London again
(Scotland is much MORE fun!), if I DID go back there I would have to do an actual TOUR of the Tower of London. Especially, a LATE NIGHT tour! It sounds like too much fun!

Go To the “Unofficial” Tower Web Site
or, The “Official” Tower Web Site
if you want to check it out!

That is IT, for DAY THREE! (Huff! Puff!)
Come With Us to DAY FOUR!
