Princess Anaksunimun … a.k.a. Suni (“Soonie”) … was named for the Mistress of Egyptian Pharaoh Seti the First. Anaksunimun fell in love with the Pharaoh’s High Priest, Imhotep, and wished for her freedom from the Pharaoh. She didn’t get it. (Both she and Imhotep were executed. Not the nicest story to name a Kat after, I guess.)
OK! So, she was named after a character in the movie, “The Mummy!” The names (and the situation) are probably still historically accurate!!!
SUNI found me in October, 1999.
I was on my way to visit Susan & Bob (at their Farm House between Lincoln and Omaha).
After turning off of the highway onto the gravel road, and driving over the RR tracks,
SOMETHING GREY RAN IN FRONT OF MY CAR!
I slammed on the brakes and saw a little Grey Kat meowing at the side of the road.
Susan didn’t recognize her … didn’t know where she might have come from.
So, SUNI WAS MINE!

UNAMUSED with having another Princess in the family. But, they got over it fairly soon. In fact, Suni inspired ALL of the other Girlz to become much happier and more playful (especially Sylvie – who was still missing her AXEL)! |
When we became Indoor-Only Katz, I realized that LACK OF ACTIVITY would become a problem. SOOOOOOO, I created the Indoor GYM … then I built the HABITAT … which was so popular, it ended up growing BIGGER AND BIGGER.
