Day 1, July 2nd
LIVERPOOL!

Don’t get all freaked out about me traveling to stay with someone I met over the Internet!

Carol & John (along with Toni, Internet bridge player from the Netherlands) traveled to London to meet Suz & I for a Pub Crawl last September.

We had such a great time, and they went to so much trouble to visit us in London – as soon as I knew I was going back to the UK, I started making plans to visit them in Liverpool.

BTW: Carol absolutely HATES having her picture taken.
Hence, the “black block” over her eyes, above! LOL

Carol & John live on a street named “Shakespeare Close.”
Street signs in the UK are … “creatively” placed! So, it took me almost an HOUR
to find Carol & John’s AREA after getting off the “Motorway.”
(With Carol to guide me back to the Motorway, it took all of 15 minutes to get there!)

(I took this pic while standing in Carol’s driveway.)
(Put your MOUSE on the pic!)

THEN, the street sign for Shakespeare Close was on the side of a BUILDING away from the intersection of Shakespeare Close and the street you come into their area on. AND, that building is across the street from their home, on the corner of the next street (that doesn’t seem to HAVE a sign)!

So, Oh SurpriZe, I went to the wrong street and the wrong house at first!

But, that nice lady told me how to find the correct address.

Carol had been watching for me, and saw me go to the wrong place. Obviously, she had to change into a new Depends before answering her door.

Their house is the end unit of a group of “Condos” (if you’re in the mid-west) or “Row Houses” (if you’re in Philly!)
It’s a very nice home! Comfy, and all. However, it’s rather small for a family of SIX!

I met sons Anthony and Billy, and daughters Samantha and Sarah.
But, never got pix of them. (I was still Jet-Lagged! Yeah … that’s the ticket.)

It was tough,
but I got Carol to let me
take pix of her and John!

Even a kissey-face pic!

(I LUV John’s Face!)

(Put your MOUSE on the pic!)

That night, we went to a “Chippie” to get dinner.

Last September, Carol had told Suz & I about
Fish & Chips with “Mushy Peas”.
After we responded, “Eeeuuuh!”
she told us that mushy peas were really good.
But, Suz & I never ran into them.

At last, I got to eat Fish & Chips with MUSHY PEAS!

Carol said they weren’t “mushy enough,”
but I liked them – a LOT.

In fact, I liked them soooo much,
I ended up buying 2 cans of them to bring home!

After dinner, Carol and I relaxed, drank wine, and watched some VIDEOS.

That’s IT for Day One!
