Day 4, July 5th |
After the Kirkyard, I continued my hike until I came to Braemar Castle.
The map below shows an arrow at Braemar Castle. I’ve inserted an arrow at the
FOOTBRIDGE I used to cross over the river on my “short cut” hike!
And, Anne’s home is approximately at the un-pointy end of that arrow.
The Castle is very close to the little highway that leads into Braemar from the East, about
1/2 mile before entering the village. (So, it’s less than a mile from Anne’s house, via the
“short cut” path over the river!) But, Braemar Castle cannot be SEEN from the highway
because of the immensely tall trees that surround it. (Suz & I drove past it at least twice,
but NEVER noticed it!)
from the brochure I bought there.
