Day 5, July 6th
“WAKE UP,
BOY!”

Every morning – and I DO mean EVERY morning! – that Ben was in residence, Coolie would leave Anne’s bed at the crack of dawn, and position himself outside the room wherein HIS BOY was sleeping.

This pic is not the best quality.
And, I failed to capture even ONE of the many times that Coolie was sitting upright, with his nose practically pressed against the door, clearly concentrating upon his doggie mantra, “Wake Up, Boy! Wake Up Boy!”
(Second part of the doggie mantra,
“Come And PLAY, BOY!”
“Come And PLAY, BOY!”)

But it gives you an idea of Coolie’s darling dedication to HIS BOY!

Pix o’ Ben and Coolie
playing ball in Anne’s backyard.

Ben is … well …
He’s a HAM!

He knew I was snapping pix,
so he was ALWAYS sure to
face the camera while he
tossed Coolie the ball … or
while Coolie was returning it.

It was toooo funny.

I luved it!

(Put your MOUSE on the pic!)

This day was QUITE TRAUMATIC for poor BEN.
Ben was old enough to know that he would be leaving Coolie & Braemar today. But, not at all old enough to take solace in the fact that he’d be able to come BACK to Coolie & Braemar some day!
So, Ben was in TEARS off and on, throughout most of the day. (In between EACH of the day’s activities, when the specter of LEAVING revisited his little boy brain!) It was heart-wrenching to see his big, googley-moogley, TEARS … and hear his sobbing (and his cursing of the evil parental units who were forcing to him to leaving his Coolie and Anne)!

Poor Charles and Lorna!

I think they originally planned to head home after a couple morning-tourista-stops with Anne and I. (They probably had tons o’ stuff to accomplish before having to return to work the next day!) But, because Ben was SOOOO upset about having to leave, they ended up staying longer … which meant they ALL were able to enjoy the Tea Room and Pipe Band with us.

So, they still seemed to have a great day!
