Day 6, July 7th
The Scottish Youth Hostel
In Inverness

CARBISDALE CASTLE
is a Scottish YOUTH HOSTEL!

Carbisdale Castle Hostel
is only a 45 minute drive
North of Inverness.

It has its own statue gallery,
an impressive art collection,
and a GHOST!

“An amazing experience,
not to be missed.”

Unfortunately, I
MISSED getting
a RESERVATION
THERE by ONE
FLIPPIN’ DAY!!!

(They had just filled-up
the day before I called!)

NEXT TRIP, if I’m going to be
anywhere near Inverness,
I WILL be staying in the
CASTLE Youth Hostel!!!

For more information
visit Carbisdale Castle’s Website.

Sooooo (contrary to my
“TEASE” – LOL
) …
THIS TRIP I stayed in the Scottish
Youth Hostel that is IN Inverness.

After finding it – without getting lost!
– I got checked in.

It’s actually a VERY nice place, and
(among lots of other amenities)
has a GREAT LAUNDRY FACILITY!

If for no other reason, staying at a SYH in the “middle” of a trip so that
you can use their reasonably-secure laundry facility, is a SMART IDEA!
Each SYH is different from ALL the others.

If you’d like to see another SYH,
go to the 2002 BRAEMAR SYH PIX,
taken when Suz’ & I bunked there
(the night after sleeping in a CASTLE!),
in September of 2002.

[Yo! You’ll have to use your
BACK BUTTON to return here!]

The rooms in this particular SYH are
full of very nice bunkbeds (futon-like
mattresses with big, puffy comforters),
AND each bunk has a little storage cubby.

After stowing my stuff in the cubby,
I went right back out and drove a mere
mile or so to Inverness’ CITY CENTER.

First, I scoped-out the route
to the LOCK NESS TOUR
meeting site, so as NOT to
loose time getting LOST
early the next morning.

(‘Twas a good idea!
It was kind of tricky to find.)

Then, after walking around a bit,
I sited a PUB and
headed there for dinner.

The pub was right
across the bridge
in front of
Inverness Castle
(which was closed
to visitors
hours earlier).

I had a lovely G&T,
ate something,
and finished my
Tour Diary for the day.

Here’s the view o’
Inverness Castle from
in front of the Pub
I had dinner at.

Thinking that everything
in Inverness’ City Center
was SHUT-DOWN
for the night (and
being a bit POOPED),
after the Pub I headed
back to the SYH,
to do my laundry and
relax a bit afore
beddy-by time.

I COULD JUST
SPIT, SPIT, SPIT!!!

I didn’t notice THIS SIGN until
the NEXT MORNING!
It was right in front of the
Inverness Tourist Center
(the meeting place for
the Loch Ness Tour).

HAD I noticed it,
I could have enjoyed
“The Famous
Davy The Ghost
Inverness TERROR Tour

on my ONLY night in Inverness!

DAMMIT!!! … NEXT TIME!!!
