Day 7, July 8th
Loch Ness 2000
Exhibition Center |
The Loch Ness 2000 Exhibition Center is located just past Drumnadrochit,
along the North Shore of Loch Ness.
This
Exhibition Center
was grand!
“Loch Ness 2000 … is an exciting multimedia presentation covering all aspects of the loch.
Co-founded by Ronnie [‘Robbie’] Bremner & Tony Harmsworth in 1980, the new exhibition was redesigned, improved and narrated by naturalist Adrian Shine, Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society.” |
|
|
|
|
“Housed in a listed, mid-Victorian [age] building … there is nothing dated about the design or radical content of
Loch Ness 2000!”
“The exhibition … takes visitors through six themed areas [rooms] on a journey from the dawn of time to the third millennium.” |
Each room includes amazing static displays, incorporating actual artifacts or equipment with Laser Digital Videos projected on one or more screens in the room, and loads of special lighting effects.
The tour’s Audio Presentation is offered in 17 languages!
But, waiting is minimal, because a new group (determined by the group’s common language) enters the exhibition
every 5 minutes. |
|
|
(I estimate that an English Language tour begins about every 20 minutes.)
In addition to the Exhibition Center there is the Drumnadrochit HOTEL and Restaurant, a Gift Shop, Kiltmaker, Whisky Shop, and an Ice Cream Vendor.
