Day 10, July 11th |
The SIGN and MEMORIAL at the Dunkeswell Aerodrome entrance.
“The Aero Club building, now Dunkeswell Air Centre, at the airfield entrance has a public area from which to view the flying, parachuting and sky-diving which take place. It offers refreshments and also a theme park for children. It has a large car park and is open daily with the exception of Christmas and New Year.
The Dunkeswell Memorial Museum, opened on 4th July, 1997. This was founded by local volunteers to display artifacts related to that period and further contribution are welcomed. The Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday during the summer, weekends only in winter. Admission is free but donations are appreciated.”
A few WWII buildings still exist on the property.
