Day 10, July 12th
The Lantern House
B&B in Eckington

Still BUZZING from the flight, I had to leave Steve (Boo Hoo) & Glastonbury on Friday afternoon,
so that I could drive just under 2 hours to reach the B&B I’d reserved for TWO NIGHTS,
so that I could be FRESH and PERKY when I attended the

Medieval Fayre in Tewkesbury on Saturday!!!

I discovered this “Medieval Fayre” barely two or three DAYS before leaving on my trip!
And, by that time, all the Tewkesbury lodgings had been SOLD OUT. (Oh, surpriZe!)
But, after several phone calls (from Nebraska), and after hunting-and-pecking about on various websites,
I found the Lantern House, and thankfully secured a B&B bed in Eckington,
a sweet little country village, merely a 20 minute drive Northeast of Tewkesbury.

Somehow (jeeze!), I failed to take my own
pic o’ the FRONT of the Lantern House.
So, here is an ENLARGED version of a very,
VERY itty bitty pic I found on some website.

As you can SORT OF see, The Lantern House
is a marvelously OLD (very well maintained)
plain and simple – QUITE comfortable –
two-story country village house.

Since this was my LAST STOP before going home,
the “boot” of my rental car threw up in my room! LOL
But, you STILL can see what a lovely and comfortable
room this was, in spite of all my pre-packing mess!
(I LUV how almost ALL of these B&B’s are
from an ERA that didn’t have “built-in” closets!)

Somehow, I also FAILED to get
a pic o’ my Fantabulous HOSTESS,
Ann Parker!

What an absolutely wonderful person!

Ann is a single business woman
with a grown son, who
(like ALL B&B proprietors)
werkz her BUNZ OFF running
this wonderful Guest House.

Yet, in spite of her workload,
we spent two or three hours
together … drinking wine
and laughing and chatting
together on her back patio …

and chatting
together
on lawn chairs
in her
ABSOLUTELY
GORGEOUS
back yard
GARDEN

… next to
her POOL!

and chatting
together,
while admiring
the
THATCHED
ROOF
of her next-door
neighbor’s
house!

OH! I especially enjoyed meeting her KAT, “Macbeth!”
Can we say, “He looks just like Silvie!”? I think we can!

The next morning,
Teddy & I got all decked-out
in our Renaissance Attire,
and then came down for
breakfast
before prancing off
to the Fayre.

A French couple and their
THREE TEENAGE SONS
(hubba-hubba times 3!!!)
were having breakfast
when Teddy & I emerged.

Those French boyz
seemed to
TRULY enjoy
Teddy!
(Their parents seemed
… confused!)

What a HOOT!
