Right now our area is in a drought and Rain-outs are very UNLIKELY. When we got as close as 6 miles out of Ravenna it started to rain pretty moderate. The pull was scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. central time. It didn't get underway till about 8:00 to 8:15. Our class, the 5700 lb. Super Stock was the second class on the west track. We pulled # 1. If you look closely on the main page at the picture you can see a steady stream of oil coming out of the blow-by tube. We had tried to fix that problem and thought we had, but we didn't. We took off out of the hole up against the rev-limiter and got about 75 ft. when the flagman stoped us, he had thought we were dropping too much oil. We decided to back up and try it again, but the battery was dead, we dropped to last. We charged the battery and went again, only later in the class. We took off spinning the tires but not moving 2 inches. The oil came out faster this time and we wern't going anywhere so we shut her down. I think they hooked us in the bottom hitch and not the top one because we were spining the tires and not moving anywhere. We loaded up and went home. The reason the oil is coming out the blow-by tube is because we have the blow-by hooked up by where the cam-gears spin and those gears are shooting oil up the tube and out the tube. We are going to either build a bigger oil pan so we could have the blow-by hooked up to the pan, or have the blow-by out the side of the block. That could change in time though. We got 7th out of 8 tractors.
We traveled to Gibbon, NE and pulled in the 5,800 lb. Super Stock Class and placed 2nd out of 5 tractors. We had a pretty good run going and the track was a biter, it really took the horsepower to get it down the track a long ways. 1st place went to Rod Posota from Ravenna, NE with a John Deere 4010 alky burner with over 500 cu. inches and two turbos. He went 355 and some feet, it was a floating finish. We went 295.8 ft. We finally got a run without any problems. YEAH!!!!!!.........Anyway, I think Rod has one of the best Lightweight Superstock tractors in the Nation as long as he can get that power to the ground, which happens quite often. We had a little oil leakage through the pan gasket or the rear main seal, but nothing serious. Our next pull will be on July 7th, at Cherroke, IA.
