"Virgin Records is re-releasing Meds, the latest album by London-based Placebo on January 23. The album was originally released in the U.S. earlier in 2006 through the Astralwerks label. The new release will add three songs not on the original release, "Lazarus", "UNEEDMEMORETHANINEEDU," and their cover of Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" which was recently featured on Bones and The O.C.. The trio's version of the mid-'80s classic first appeared on the bonus disc of 2003's Sleeping With Ghosts. The other two tracks were originally b-sides to the UK singles of "Meds".
As was the case with the original release of Meds, R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe duets on the track "Broken Promise," and Alison Mosshart of The Kills is a guest on the title track. The band sold out their recent American tour which was a co-headliner with She Wants Revenge, though Placebo ended up headlining all but 3 shows due to public demand. Placebo will be touring the U.S. again in early Spring."

US re-release of the album Meds
according the Virgin Records US site, Meds is scheduled to be re-released in the USA on Jan. 23, 2007; as of now, the site says nothing more regarding if it will be any different than the orginal version that was released on Astralwerks
