Here is text from JAV’s Web Site, describing their May, 2000, festivities
(which pretty much also describes their May, 2001 festivities):
Lincoln's Society for Creative Anachronism will again lend their expertise to the festival by providing demonstrations throughout the day. Lincoln musician Chris Sayre will perform a number of pieces using instruments from the Renaissance time period, while Lincolnite Paul Lefeber will dazzle the audience with his juggling and magic act.A number of area high school madrigal choirs will also perform throughout the day. [Some truly BUXOM Mediterranean Dancers were also there in 2001! And, many more VENDORS than in 2000!]
Once again Billy's will provide a wide array of Renaissance faire, including their famous turkey legs and jumbo hot dogs. [‘Twas “Billy’s” again this year!] Of course, JAV's award winning mead wines will also be available for tasting.
This year's festival will also feature an area for kids, with plenty of crafts and the chance to create their own Renaissance outfits. [I overheard plenty of positive comments about the Kidz area and the crafts they were able to make!]
There will be other surprises and fun throughout the day. [This year’s Fest required $1 admission fee per each carload that enters the grounds. All proceeds collected at the gate went to the MAD DADS!]
This year, they also had a REAL
RENAISSANCE WEDDING!!!
I have only ONE pic o’ that at present.
More-to-come someday (I hope)!
