Links to Renaissance Web Sites of
Faires I’ve Attended and Web Sites I “Frequent!”

All my Ren-Pix were taken while
visiting some of the following Faires,
so you may have already visited
these links from the Pix Pages.

But, just in case you haven’t
(and would like to),
here are the Web Sites of some
Fabulous Faires and Festivals!

The Lincoln Irish Dancers’ Web Site

I first met some Lincoln Irish Dancers (LIDs) at the James Arthur Vineyards Renaissance Festival in May of 2000. Later, some LIDs joined the Wenches at the Council Bluffs, Iowa; “Renaissance Faire of the Midlands (June, 2000).
Their organization is TRES KOOL.
And the members I’ve met are incredibly FUN individuals!

The James Arthur Vineyard Web Site

It’s only a half-day-long (noon to 8pm),
and rather “small” in size,
but the James Arthur Vineyards Renaissance Festival

IS TERRIFIC FUN!!!
I first attended in 2000, when it was held on May 20th.

The 2001 schedule is posted: Saturday, May 19th!!!
I’m hoping that the WENCHES will be a “scheduled” entity this year!!! AND, I hope to talk them into going a FULL DAY (opening in the AM – around 9, or so) in 2002!!!
Whatever occurs, I’M SURE TO BE THERE this year, and every year.

Council Bluffs, Iowa; “Renaissance Faire of the Midlands
I attended this Faire for the first time in June of 2000. (No published schedule for 2001 as yet; but, one must assume that JUNE will be the month it occurs!) My only “complaint” about this Faire: They serve NO ALCOHOL!!! Hence, I may reconsider attending in 2001! Actually, I’ll probably attend – but, BMOB in a wineskin!)
For a small Faire, they had some VERY impressive Jousting and a goodly selection/variety of Vendors. Whether or not I attend again, I still recommend this Faire to others!

The Kansas City Renaissance Festival
Held on Weekends, September 1 – October 14 (2001), this is a REALLY GREAT Ren-Fest. The Jousting is a little “cramped” for space. But there are acres and acres of vendors and games and truly fun stuff.
My Pix from 1999 are lysted on my Ren Directory (Home) Page.
Sadly, the Nebraska Wenches (and Sirs Patrick and Cameron) missed this Faire in 2000. But, we’ll be planning a Wench Walk in 2001 FOR SURE!

The Texas Renaissance Festival
Held on 7 weekends – Saturdays & Sundays – October 6th to November 18th, 2001.
I attended in 1999 and 2000, and plan to return EVERY YEAR!
Something interesting and new they started in 2000:

“Costume Rental
For the first time (in 2000), you will be able to rent costumes at the front gate. The Belrose, costumers extraordinaire, will have a wide variety of costumes available to our patrons. The costumes range from Courtier to Commoner, all reasonably priced. So, make your first stop The Belrose and enter the land of adventure, merriment, and magic at the Texas Renaissance Festival.”

OOOOh! I used to refer folkz to:
Thy Unofficial Colorado Renaissance Festival Home Page

[It’s still “up,” but hasn’t been updated since May 9th, 1999!!!]

However: I’ve recently (09JAN01!) discovered that there is now an
“OFFICIAL” Colorado Renaissance Festival Home Page!!!

Held Saturdays and Sundays, June 9th through July 29th, 2001; this Festival is located outside Larkspur, Colorado – South of Denver and North of Colorado Springs. The CO Ren Fest grounds are smaller than some festivals (such as the Texas Renaissance Festival), but much larger than others (Council Bluffs)! Its Rocky Mountain foothill location is incredibly beautiful, and the Facilities/Vendors are TOPS! (Additionally, Puke & Snot regularly perform here = HUGE PLUS!)

It’s a very, VERY FUN Faire. If you live anywhere near here and don’t attend EVERY YEAR – you’re a FOOL! I attended the CO Ren Fest several times, during the years I lived in Denver.
(I’m even considering driving for 9+ flippin’ hours to attend in 2001!!!)
