Be safe on Halloween

Boo!

The Shortest Version

Parents should take small children trick or treating.

All children should understand they go only to well-lit houses and remain on porches rather than entering houses.

Make sure children know their home phone number and carry a cell phone or coins for emergency telephone calls.

Attach names and addresses to children's costumes.

People recieving visitors should prepare their homes for trick-or-treaters by clearing porches, lawns and sidewalks and by placing jack-o-lanterns away from doorways and landings.

Inspect all candy for safety before children eat it.
