~Cadets Capture Marksmanship Silver~
On Saturday, January 31, 2004, 2558 RCACC Placentia played host to the 2004 Canadian Cadet Movement, Marksmanship Championship Series, Stage II at St. Anne’s Academy in Dunville. Joining the home team for the regional competition were army cadets from 2565 Spaniard’s Bay, 2584 Whitbourne, 2903 Norman’s Cove and 2615 Victoria, sea cadets from 32 Beothic, Harbour Grace and air cadets from 589 Carbonear.
At the end of the day, the 2558 Team placed second and obtained the silver medals. On the individual scene, Cpl. Jessica Kelly of Placentia obtained the title of “Top Junior” receiving the highest score in her age category. 2258 also congratulates the teams from 2565 Spaniard’s Bay and 2584 Whitbourne who placed first and second respectively, and to all other teams for their display of sportsmanship and marksmanship abilities.
Members of the 2558 team included, Sgt. Nicole Kerrivan, Sgt. Darryl Griffin, Cpl. Jessica Kelly, Cpl. Neilson Woodman, Cdt. Joey Kelly and coach, CI Tony Woodman.
