Hi. My name is MARGARET SPRAKER and I'm a direct decendent of MATTHEW BAIRD, born May 5, 1805 in New York, New York. He married OPHELIA CAUTHORN,
daughter of REUBEN CAUTHORN, Feb. 14, 1831., Baltimore, MD.
They had four children: 1) ANN VIRGINIA BAIRD b. abt 1839
2) GEORGE W (WILLIAM?) BAIRD b. abt
1843
3) ROSA ROBAUD BAIRD b. abt 1845
4) HENRY M BAIRD b. abt 1847.
Now, in your notes on the web site in the list of other BAIRDS, Immigrants,
you have a listing for a WILLIAM BAIRD 23 NY 1775. Is there a way of finding
out if this is MATTHEW BAIRD'S father? I have been all over the BAIRD Clan web site
and it led me to your site so I'm hoping you can help. If you can't is there
someone you can lead me to that might be able to?
Most of these BAIRD'S are buried together. REUBEN, OPHELIA, ROSA, MATTHEW, and a few others in the family are all buried
in Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore. This WILLIAM is the only BAIRD I have
been able to place in New York besides MATTHEW. Please let me know if I'm
"barking up the right tree"? No pun intended! Thank you for your time.
