The 12/25 marker test is simple - just swab the inside of your cheek. The costs start at $99. This test will tell you within 14 generations whether you are related to someone.

This BURNS Family started in the late 1600's and/or early 1700's in Pennsylvania. They might be related to ROBERT BURNS, the great Scottish Poet (perhaps through his ancestors). Some researchers are still arguing this point.
The Pennsylvania BURNS Family left in various segments and went to such places as Ohio, Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Texas and other places.

LAIRD BURNS' Family mostly went to South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Kentucky, & Texas. I am now placing the inner links only for this family group inside the Laird link. They are MID-SOUTH; LARD; JAMES, SON OF LARD; PETER; JOHN & MARGARET; WILLIAM A BURNS of SC, GA, TX, & AR and the Texas BURNS'.
JAMES BURNS ESQ'S Family split.
WASHINGTON BURNS Family went mostly to Indiana or Iowa.
HUGH BURNS' Family went mostly to Ohio and Indiana.
SAMUEL BURNS' Family went mostly to Ohio and some ended up in Iowa.

My family which is from JAMES BURNS, ESQ. (PA) to WASHINGTON, SR. (PA) are WILLIAM TURNER BURNS (PA); CHARLES RUSHTON BURNS (PA, IA); CHARLES EARL BURNS (IA, MO, TN); & EARL ANTHONY BURNS (MO, TN, MI, FL).
Then there's ROBERT BURNS' family (PA) & JAMES BURNS (PA), the GENERAL'S Family. These people will be linked within each other.
Under JAMES BURNS, Esq. will also be the links for SAMUEL BURNS' of PA, OH, IN; & the TURNER FAMILY (PA) who intermarried with the BURNS'.
Of course, when you get down to the 1900's the families disperse even further. Some went to Michigan, Iowa, Missouri as well as many places in the South.
