The BURNS Family DNA project will tell you within 14 generations if you are related to someone. The test is easy - just swab the inside of your cheek. The results will not show your name. Only the Administrator will have that. This test could not be used for anything except genealogy purposes. It's not sophisticated enough. nfarmilo@comcast.net

Hello Norma, I ran across your website on the Burns family. I am a Burns myself and was wondering where you got your info. My grandfather was Francis Joseph Burns of Brooklyn New York, I believe it was his father who immigrated.

My grandfather was ROBERT A BURNS, born in Pavilion, NY, August 4, 1881 -- his father may have been named GEORGE BURNS (I'm not sure).

ROBERT A BURNS was married in Geneva, Nebraska, November 20,1906, and was a farmer there for a while. He was handy w/machines and tools. He also worked on stream thrashing machines and followed the harvest.

Later, before WWII, he was an oil dealer in Omaha NE. He died October, 1953 on a trip to Syracuse NY. He liked nice cars & drove a Packard.

Family folklore has always been that his grandfather (or great- ?) was a nephew of the Scottish poet Robert Burns, who came to this country in late 1700s/early 1800s.
