How to use those rares you never used!

We all have files of rares, don't we? You know, one file for the stuff we'll trade, one for the stuff we're keeping. And let's face it, your trades folder is full of cards that are never gonna leave. Stuff that you've looked at, thought about, and decided it was too average for tournament play. You're probably right. But not every game of Magic is a tournament, and I'm sure people like Jon Finkel and Randy Buehler sit down and have a couple fun games every now and then. That's what this page is for...all the cards in your file that you never used are about to be thrown into fun decks that are perfect for that rainy Wednesday night with a few beers, a bag of chips and some life counters. Ahhh, bliss.

Note that these decks are mostly not made to be tournament legal, but a lot of them use cards only from Ice Age onwards, and very few go back further than Mirage. That's because those sets are still pretty easy to get hold of, and anyone who needs to buy some of the cards for the decks won't be forced to sell the cat.

The Elven Warhounds/Lure deck. Very unkind, it uses Elven Warhounds and Thicket Basilisks, with a Lure, to destroy the opponent's creatures. If you're lucky, it gets out a Nature's Revolt and nukes the land as well.

The About Face/Angelic Protector deck. OK, so this one cheats a bit, in that most of the cards are common or uncommon. 1 en Kor + 1 Angelic Protector + 1 About Face=unlimited damage. It's cheesy, cheap, and fun.

The Angelic Chorus deck. This is a very, very silly deck. Based on Worthy Cause, Lifeline, Angelic Chorus and several walls, you should be able to get above 1000 life if you play this deck right. Sac a wall with WC, gain life equal to its toughness. Lifeline brings it back, AC gains you life equal to its toughness. The best part of the deck, though, is the Scoria Wurm.

Got a favorite silly deck that uses cards that never see play? Throw 'em my way and I'll put them up. Reach us at melginskeep@angelfire.com
