Furry, chirpy, annoying...deadly?

They're cuddly, they saved the Rebels' bacon, and for most diehard fans, they ruined Reutrn of the Jedi. So why on earth would we want to build a deck around them? Here's why...

Nearly all the Ewoks are 1 or 2 to deploy. That makes for a deck very fast out of the blocks, similar to the weenie concept in Magic. You could have 2 Ewok Spearmen armed with Ewok Spears on the table first turn, and if they are at Rebel Landing Site or Hidden Forest Trail, for example, they are power 4 and you get a destiny draw. Ewok Tribesman is worth thinking about as they can soak up attrition like anybody's business.

There are some awesome unique Ewoks too. Wuta brings out your locations for 2 Force each, as long as they are exterior.Kazak's ability to add 1 to any Force drain at an Endor site is deadly, as you pull in at least a 2 at every location in the deck, except Chief Chirpa's Hut. Romba's Force genration bonus may seem like flogging a dead horse, but it's basically at least one free Ewok a turn. Chief Chirpa is a must, especially when he could be out for free on the first turn. Logray and Teebo again add nice bonuses to your other Ewoks. Wicket can exclude even Vader from battle if he draws Ewok Catapult for destiny.

The mains in the deck sort themselves really. Daughter of Skywalker is so good because she adds a LS icon, making your Ewoks with her bigger. And those numbers...move over Luke! Chewbacca gets one of the best Ewoks out of your deck for free, and deploys for 4. Remember you get a 6/2 for that. General Solo once again can quite easily cancel an opponent's destiny draw, which is never a bad thing. And is that the best version of Threepio yet to be seen? Basically cannot be lost, and in a swarm deck like this the attrition will mount up. Unfortunately, it seems too hard to get a good Luke into the deck, but Obi Wan is never a bad idea.

Sound the Attack is awesome. It gives you an extra battle destiny, or it can get you that spear you needed. Wokling is another great effect from Endor that also makes your Ewoks bigger. Yub Yub can be useful, and Ewok and Roll is underestimated. Ithorians are a good choice for the deck, even though they give your opponent an extra Force, they do the same to you AND beef up your Ewoks.

I chose to add the Objective Rebel Strike Team/Garrison Destroyed and some Explosive Charges plus the Bunker location, and went with Rebel Scout Troopers, Lieutenant Page and Sergeant Junkin to blow away the Bunker. This gives a minimum of 5 Force to start with, and flipping the Objective can spell doom for the opponent. The other route to take is start with Chief Chirpa's Hut and aim to swarm the opponent down with sheer numbers.

The deck could run into problems against non-Endor decks, when it becomes a sheer race. Combat this by adding a couple of capitals, like Tantive IV, both to move Ewoks and to control Endor system. Of course, the awesome Battle Plan is a possibility. A couple of Nabrun Leids, with all the Force you are generating, could also help.

The final composition is up to you, but the power of the Ewoks is, unfortunately, all too obvious. Can anything stop them? In a word...

YUB YUB!
