Atropos is a female robot living in 2300 AD. Although we are not sure who her creator was, we know that she is from the same line or family of robots that Robo belonged to. She is Robo's girlfriend and it seems that they were very happy together and had a great relationship going. Both of them served their the Mother of the R-Series robots, Mother Brain, and when Robo went off on his assignment to study humans, Atropos remained with Mother Brain at the Geno Dome. Although we are uncertain as to exactly what happened, we know that the once loving and kind Atropos was reprogrammed by Mother Brain in Robo's absence to be a complete human killing, cruel, and heartless machine. When Robo returned with the group, Atropos tries to convince Robo to join her, but Robo could sense that there was something wrong with her and he wouldn't allow her to harm his new human friends. After a heated battle Atropos was defeated and regained her memory, only it was too late. She was already too damaged by the fight to be repaired. She passed away, but not before giving Robo her ribbon. One can only hope that in the unknown future to come after the defeat of Lavos, that history is in some way altered enough that Atropos and Robo can finally live together in peace.
