Here we have another picture of a Bonavista resident obtaining his drinking water from the well on Church Street. This time it is winter and the water has to be transported
by means of a slide.
The next picture appears to taken somewhere along the Cape Shore. It has been suggested to me that it might be the area
once known as "Fisher's Cove." If anyone should know if this is correct please let me know.
Here's another picture of a parade moving down Church Street toward the War Memorial. This was probably taken in the mid 1950s.
The next picture shows several trucks either loading or unloading supplies from the Plue Peter II at the Government Pier.
Here we have a boat with a group of Sea Cadets aboard coming into the harbour. The Cadets are probably returning from a trip aboard a Canadian
Naval Vessel.
This last picture shows the area near the Post Office and Memorial Library. The Anglican Church is in the background.
Thanks again to Reg Way, Bonavista, for providing me with the negatives from which these pictures were developed. If you enjoyed looking at these pictures of
Bonavista about 50 years ago please sign my Guest Book on the Home Page. That is the only way I have of knowing whether you
enjoyed the photos or any other items on my Web Site.
