Bonavista - Summer of '99 --- Part 2

Continuing our walk around Bonavista we find ourselves in the Red Point Area. Just a few feet from the road we see several fishermen checking their lobster pots.To listen to "The Squid Jigging Ground" click HERE Lobster Fishermen Checking Pots

Walking back up Church Street we see that repairs are been carried out on the United Church. This reminds us of a time back in the early 50's when the same repairs were being done. Could it be that in this area time has stood still or that it's taken that long to get from one tower to the other ! Who's the person painting the tower in the black and white photo? Email me if you know.

No visit to Bonavista would be complete without a trip to the top of White Rock to look out over the entire Town. Not only are we given a beautiful panoramic view of Bonavista and the Cape, we now have an additional benefit from our trip up to White Rock. A few years ago - just in time for the Cabot 500 celebrations - a beautiful mural, depicting certain aspects of the fishery, was painted on the huge watertower standing above the town.
