HORSE the News

9/24/01:
Our summer tour is over. We played our Cobalt Cafe show which had a pretty good turn out, and then we recorded our five song demo. It is getting good reviews. For a free copy, e-mail us or call us or look for us passing them out at local shows. Everyone is back at school now, but we are busy working on news songs and planning our fall and winter line-up. More to come as things progress.
8/31/01:
After playing our best show to date at X-records, signing autographs, passing out stickers and fliers, and spreading the legacy of HORSE the band, it has been confirmed that we are the greatest band ever. Also we were banned from ever playing at X-records again because we played survivor when they told us we couldn't play anymore. HAHAHA!!
8/22/01:
Ok it's been awhile. Jason Karuza is once again our drummer. Nathan has taken over on bass. Erik has switched back to keyboards for the most part. New songs have been written. They are good. We have two shows coming up. The first one is on the 30th at X records. The next one is on Sept. 7th at the cobalt cafe. For more info go to HORSE the shows. We are recording Sept. 9th and 10th. It will probably be a five song demo. If you would like a copy after we are done, e-mail us.
April 2001:
At approximately this point in time HORSE the band stopped sucking ass. This was a very important time for the band. They learned how to write songs appropriately, and got their act together in general. They are out of puberty and have developed into handsome young men. They realized all their old songs were very gay and aloof sounding.
1/9/01:
HORSE the band just returned back to school after their winter reunion stint. After many trials and tribulations they re-recorded the songs that turned out shittilly on the last recording, so there is a new and improved Secret Rhythm of the Universe for all to enjoy. On Feb 18th, the band will descend upon the showcase theatre and have diahrrea on everyone's head. Please come and support us and buy a ticket in advance by signing the guestbook.
9/15/00:
HORSE the band got a new drummer, Nathan, recorded a live album called the Secret Rhythm of the Universe, made a new website, and played some shows. They are playing at El Toro High School during lunch on September 22nd. This makes them happy.
3/10/00:
Mave and Your Mom have reportedly been writing some songs via teleconferencing. The word is that these new tunes go far beyond anything HORSE or any other band has ever achieved. In addition to this Your Mom now plays the dual role of playing occasional rhythm guitar. Some of these new tunes will be worked on in secret sessions in Hair Helmet's game room. A possible live demo will come out of this occurence.
12/29/99:
HORSE the band is playing a free concert on December 30th at 4 pm at Maven's house. There's going to be free food. The proposed setlist is: The Ambiguous Camel, The Salvation Army (new song), 2 Blink 182 covers, Sitcom #3, The Feast, x4chickens@aol.com, Titanic Theme Song, H, and James II (new song). The concert will be good. Nerdcore lives!!!!
9/16/99:
David left for Stanford today. Now Jason, Risto, and David are gone and Erik and replacement bass player Guy will be gone soon. Look for concerts during Thanksgiving and Winter Break.
9/15/99:
HORSE the band played a concert at Trabuco Hills High School during lunch. Adam couldn't come so Erik sang. They did OK. People liked x4chickens@aol.com and the Titanic Cover song the most.
8/20/99:
HORSE the band finally finished recording their LP. It is now going to be called "Scabies, The Kangarooster, & You" probably. It has 9 tracks on it, including the 10 minutes nerdcore epic, "emogoblin". There are lots of funny samples between songs. David spent a lot of money on this crap. HORSE the band is now concentrating on distributing our noise and finding gigs.
8/1/99:
HORSE the band's probable final release, "Regarding the Kangarooster", is nearing completion. It sounds wonderful. The songs included on "Concerning the Kangarooster" will be remastered to improve sound quality. There are many special surprises on the album. HORSE the band is also making an effort to send out demo tapes to record companies, but nothing will come of their efforts...
7/6/99:
HORSE the band received a malicious threat from some piece of crap band called Horse in England to change their name. Just to piss off the Horse in England, HORSE the band changed their name to HORSE the band. So don't mix us up because Horse threatened to take legal action against HORSE the band. If you are interested in Horse's CDs you can find many of them collecting dust for $1.99 at SecondSpin.com, a used CD store.
7/4/99:
HORSE the band has finished recording and mastering a 5 song demo entitled "Concerning the Kangarooster". It is basically a better versions of the three food tracks, plus a sneak peek at some of the new material that will appear on "Regarding the Kangarooster". The 30 second title track, sung by Mave is also included for your listening delight. The rest of "R.T.K." will be recorded this summer.
6/10/99:
HORSE the band has made arrangements to go into the studio at the beginning of July. They will record approximately six songs, including better versions of the "Food" demos. The tentative title for the new EP is "Concerning the Kangarooster." HORSE has a very small window of opportunity for this recording because Risto returns to Finland on July 5th, and Your Mom gets back from vacation on July 3rd.
5/28/99:
HORSE the band burnt the mofo to the ground last night.
5/24/99:
HORSE the band is playing their first concert on Thursday May 27th. They will fullfill their dream of playing at Bullstock at ETHS. The day before, on Wednesday, there will be an exclusive private listening party at Mave's house.
The proposed setlist is:
1-The Ambiguous Camel
2-H
3-The Tale of James
In addition, there will be some musical comedy in the interim moments.
