I know it's a business card. You know it's a business card. They know it's a business card. But if it says, "Bookmark," they will use it as a bookmark! And when they do, they will think of your store.
Business cards are, as you know, extremely inexpensive. You can order a thousand of them for just a few dollars. The more you order, the less expensive they are per thousand.
I suggest you order business cards with the word, "BOOKMARK," in big, bold type. Your store information should include nothing more than name, address and phone number.
As customers purchase books, instruct your cashier to tuck one bookmark in each book.
When designing your business card/bookmark, keep it simple. Raised letters and peculiar graphics are okay, but unnecessary. The important thing is to keep your name in front of the customers every time they read books purchased at your store.
And as you visit other churches (see idea number three) be sure to give one or two bookmarks to those who greet you.
