The table below describes the P.P.E. cost vs number of attacks it takes to create the spell.  This does not change with level of the magician.  If you are wondering where the advantage of being higher level and more adept is, it lies in the spell strength, power, and the fact that those higher level magicians have the P.P.E to cast higher level spells.

Almost any spell can be split to affect multiple attackers.  But to do so, you must divide the duration, damage, effect, etc, by the number of targets you wish to hit.  You must also make a Spell Targetting roll.  (30% +5% per level.)  If the S.T. roll is failed then only one person is hit, but for the full effect of the spell.

The magician may change the magnitude of their spells by double-casting, triple-casting, etc.  To do this, one must put double (or triple, etc) the P.P.E. involved in.  Then the magic's duration -OR- effect is twice as potent.  The user may not select both.

There is a legendary sickness involved with casting spells too often and of too large of size.  They say that some people are not ready to handle so much power, while more experienced are.  The actual cause of this sickness and it's effects have varied in the past, and are not quite predictable.  It remains a mystery, even to the magic and psychic community.

When the spell is cast, all others in the area shall know.  All spells requite the proper power-words to be cast.  If one is mute or tied at the mouth, then he/she will not be able to cast spells.  The words may be whispered, but no matter the volume, the words will echo all around the mage in his or her area for everyone to hear.  Additionally, there are arcane movements involved.  Many mages vary in this aspect.  Some trace sigils in the air, some glow a bright aura, some produce a large sound, while others produce a dazzling display of swirling lights and effects.  Many magicians have different visual casting methods, but all use power words.
