Name – Alexander Tobin Garren

Allegiance – At present vampires, though his ties to either side are loose at best.
Nationality - French Canadian
Hair – messy dark black hair, about the same shade as his little brother Taylan’s
Eyes – violet, once again just like Taylan’s
Languages - 1st French. Then he has also learned English, Spanish, Italian and a spattering of Russian (Mostly from his extensive traveling due to his career.)
Appearance – Alexander seems to have invented the whole, mussed journalist look. A loose tie and a slightly open shirt. He prefers slightly dressed up boots to formal dress shoes. His hair is always slightly wild and he’s got a very carefree look about him as though life was nothing but one big walk in the park… and that’s when he’s in the office! Out of the office you’d be likely to find him in T-shirt and jeans. Same boots though! Alex is almost never without a camera and notebook. They seem to be standard accessories and that camera of his seems damn near indestructible as its been through countless risky correspondence missions in the name of journalism!
Personality - There is a lot of Taylan’s personality in Alex. He likes to smile and is always making jokes. He looks on the brighter side of things whenever he can. Unlike Taylan, Alex has never battled depression and his childhood memories are fairly good ones. He does regret that his father decided to leave his alcoholic mother, probably his biggest regret was that they left behind his youngest brother Taylan. Who died of some rare form of cancer when he was around twelve years old (or at least that’s what his father told him.) Alex is fairly open minded about most things and he loves adventure. He appreciates learning about other cultures and is rather neutral towards his father. He never quite forgave him for abandoning Taylan… but he doesn’t hate him by any means. He visits with his father and keeps an irregular correspondence with him.
History – Alexander had a great deal of trouble adjusting to living in America… he couldn’t understand why his father had chosen to leave Taylan behind. But children are durable and after Taylan’s supposed death he vowed to put the past behind him and press on. He achieved high honors in high school and went on to college to study journalism and media. He met a young woman named Kim and they were married when Alex was 21 (1991). They had a son who they named Christopher in 1994, but the baby was born premature and died after only two months on this earth. Kim took it very hard and two years later in 96 their failing marriage fell apart completely and they divorced. It was an amicable divorce… they simply both realized they were no longer in love… almost as if the love they had found in each other died along with their son. Alex does keep contact with Kim who remarried in 1999 and though Alex was unable to attend he sent his regards and wished her the best of happiness.
Alex works as a semi-freelance journalist and photographer. He has nominal ties to a publishing company and travels extensively. His father’s large corporation funded his earlier work but now he is self-sufficient and earns enough with his work to fund himself quite nicely.
Gift - Somewhat telekinetic, he also has the strength/endurance of a vampire, but none of thier squick healing abilities regretfully.
