Appearance - Bethany is very petite, she looks fragile. She has long beautiful dark black hair just
like her mother Elizabeth did. Her eyes are like her father's as well, a deep and clear emerald
green. She is slender and graceful.
Personality - Bethany has a fighter's spirit, though its been suppressed in all those years of
experimentation. She is rather soft spoken unless she gets angry. She likes to laugh as well. She
ought to be a bit of a firebrand once she comes into her own.
History - Bethany was stolen from her mother Elizabeth just before she would have been born, by
a trained team of slayers. The slayers captured her mother and induced labor, forcing Elizabeth to
deliver her baby a bit too early and without any kind of pain medication. It was a difficult labor
and it killed Elizabeth. The slayers had planned to kill her anyway, so in their opinion her death
from that was a time saver. Bethany was taken to a Council lab. The scientists raised her. She
was never told of her mother Elizabeth or her father Valentine. She grew up completely unaware
of her vampiric nature.
She was subjected to all manner of tests and experiments. Most notably she received
courses of anti-viral injections, slated to reverse or at least suppress her vampiric nature. She was
mostly unaffected by vampiric tendencies until she was 18 years old. It was then she began to
change, her body began to make the changes towards vampirism. A Pure Blood vampire
normally experiences these kind of changes in the early 20's or around there. It can be painful,
but normally the vampire will be in the company of other vampires and they can receive vampire
blood in small doses, which eases the transition from mortal to vampire. Bethany had nothing but
the scientists and her receiving vampire blood was as likely as a Popsicle in hell.
The combined effort of her being starved for blood and the anti-virals they gave her made
the transition far from smooth. She was racked with almost constant pain and plagued by a thirst
she could not understand. She was locked away to protect the staff from her thirst. She didn't
know what the thirst was. As the drugs warred with her natural chemistry she began to lose
control over herself. When she was 22 (1950) she broke her restraints and drained one of her
captors in an instinctual reflex, though her mind did not understand the bloodlust... her body
certainly knew what it wanted and just how to get it.
When the lab scientists found out she was placed into the testing cylinders and given
repeated electroshock therapy. Something about her Pure Blood nature fought off all attempts to
scramble her mind. She remained trapped there for 50 years until Valentine found her in 2001
and rescued her.
