Forgotten but not gone
You drink it off your mind
You talk about the world
Like it's someplace that you've been

Note: This is Horatio's information as can be read in the Others' file database.

Name: Horatio Watson
DOB: February 8th, 1971
Age: 30
POB: America, exact location not given
Allegiance: The Others
Nationality: American
Languages: English, Latin, and some French

Appearance: Horatio is a thin, tallish man with short hair, clipped but slightly messy at the sides and long enough to nearly fall into his eyes in the front. His hair is that natural greyish-brown, a bit on the blond side at the tips, with a slightly reddish tint. He has grey-blue eyes and always wears glasses. Horatio usually dresses in suits, with a tie, and casual for him is not wearing a suit jacket. Wearing a dress shirt without a tie is SUPER casual.

Personality: By some twist of fate Horatio manages to be a completely equal mix of innocent and jaded. He has lived a rather sheltered life, but a sheltered life within an organization that murders people (although they'd probably take issue with the 'people' label) as it's main objective. He is a philosopher and scholar at heart, being relatively unversed in social things, but having been aware of vampires and other supernatural things his entire life he simply accepts them as truth, never doubting they could exist just because it's 'improbable.' He could well be described as a 'lost soul,' someone who goes through life doing what they're expected to do and nothing more. It isn't clear, even to Horatio, whether he doesn't venture beyond what he knows because he has a bad opinion of those things or simply because he doesn't want to. He is confused, and his biggest problem is that he doesn't realize it.

History: Horatio remembers nothing from before he was five years old and was taken in by the Others. They've told him his parents work for them, but are stationed at an obscure and secret base, and he never sees them. It has been explained to him that he doesn't have memories from when he was small because children only tend to remember traumatic stuff, and nothing traumatic happened to him. He accepted this without question, and only wonders a little on rare occasions when he's either very drunk or feeling introspective. His real name in truth isn't Horatio Watson. Jacob, the head of research for the Others, was really the one to raise him and he gave him that name- Horatio after the character from Hamlet, and Watson after the one in Sherlock Holmes. He brought Horatio up to be his successor in the research department of the Others, focusing on literature and philosophy when he noticed what an interest the boy had in it. Horatio was home schooled until fifth grade, and then he was sent to a public school for middle and high school. He didn't go to college, but Jacob's teaching was very similar to taking a few classes in the subjects Jacob wanted to teach him, both at his own discretion and by orders of the Others.

Gift: Healing, but he doesn't know it yet *commence evil cackling*

Theme song: Broadway by The Goo Goo Dolls
Car: A black Impala.

Favorites:
Colors: Grey-blue, brown, and moss green
Movie: Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet, the Hamlet with Mel Gibson, Roman Polanski's MacBeth, and just about any other Shakespeare movie made.
Music: Kids in high school got him into 80's music and he still hasn't really gotten out of it, but more the pop end of the scale than thrash or hard rock. He also likes lots of stuff that doesn't have words, ranging from classical to techno.
Book: Hamlet, and most of Shakespeare's tragedies and histories, except Romeo and Juliet, which he dislikes with a passion.
Season: Fall-winter
Hobbies: Analyzing Shakespeare, reading ANYthing, computer stuff.
Likes: Shakespeare, organization, computers, coffee, learning, solitude.
Dislikes: Being a gofer, being treated like he's inexperienced and stupid, thinking to deeply about himself, fatalistic/morbid drunks, solitude.
Phobias: Deep down and VERY subconsciously he's afraid of what he might find out about himself if he delved too deep.

Quotes:
"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

"Give me that man that is not passion's slave, and I will wear him in my heart's core, ay, my heart of heart, as I do thee."
~Hamlet
