eyes - violet, He also wears glasses at times. Mostly just for reading, he does have contact lenses as well
Languages - 1st - French. Then he has also learned English and a touch of Japanese
Appearance - Taylan is quite slender, not totally effeminate... but not extremely masculine either. He has short black hair, long enough to fall into his eyes. His eyes are soulful and the like to smile. His face is quite handsome. He has average skin tone, not too dark and not too light either. He
stands about five foot eight inches tall. He likes to laugh. He is undeniably sexy, only he does not
seem to be aware of that. He likes to dress in fitted shirts or sweaters and either jeans or khaki pants.
Personality - Taylan loves to laugh. He is a very happy person despite his maltreatment as a
child. He is a very gentle soul. Taylan is very intelligent and he has a great sense of humor. He does have occasional trouble with depression but the bouts are usually short lived and rarely damaging, at least not anymore. He is also gay and would really like to find someone to spend his life with, but he's starting to think he'll just spend the rest of his life alone. He doesn't like to be alone and usually isn't if he can avoid it. He feels like he has been alone his entire life and it makes him feel inhuman.
Taylan has very intense feelings and he can be overly sensitive sometimes to the point where its bad for his health. He really cares about Sere, his best and really only good friend.
History - Taylan was born in Canada and grew up speaking French. His father left he and his
mother when Taylan was just four years old. Taylan's father Raegan took Taylan's two older
brothers with him. Alex was twelves and Sam was ten at the time. Taylan's mother was alcoholic and she
took her husband leaving her rather hard. She mistreated her four-year-old son. Often neglecting
him or locking him in the basement for days on end. She was prone to violent outbursts too, which
Taylan often bore the brunt of.
When Taylan was about 13 he realized that he wasn't like the other boys his age, he didn't
like girls. He was not interested in trying to look into girl's locker rooms. He tried to keep it a
secret. But boys around that age are always overly receptive to any differences and when they
realized he was gay, they beat him up pretty badly. He was hospitalized for 2 days and then
released.
His mother blamed herself for what happened, and she stopped drinking totally. They moved to a new home and started anew. Taylan's mother never found out why her son had been beaten like that.
His life was stabilizing, he had just turned 15, his home school grades were exemplary and he had even made a few friends. But then his mother's company had a series of lay-offs and his mother lost her job. She started drinking again and was declared an unfit parent. Taylan was placed into foster care and his mother commited suicide in the hospital when she found out. Her death had a great effect on Taylan and he has always somewhat subconsciously felt a certain degree of responsibility for it.
He ran away from the foster home, he wanted to go and live with his father. He had been searching for his father, idolizing him ever since he left. Since he was ten he'd been trying to track him down and when the letter came in the mail from the search agency that they had found Raegan Garren in California, Taylan packed the few things he owned and
just left. He took his mother's car. Barely old enough for a license he didn't have. He had
tracked his father all the way from Quebec to where he had been living in California. He showed
up one day at his father's condo and his father had not been pleased. Taylan had almost died after
his father broke most of his ribs and threatened to kill him if he ever tried to contact him or either
of his brothers again.
Taylan spent a grueling eight months in the hospital, physically he recovered in a matter of
one week. A stunning recovery which shocked his doctors at the rate his broken bones mended. Mentally... that was another story. He met Dr. Maas then. He'd been in intensive therapy because he'd been suicidal. Dr. Maas had given him a job working at the hospital as long as he agreed to get his GED. It was Dr. Maas who had gotten him back on his feet and encouraged him to apply for scholarships and go to college, Taylan however was the one who had set his heart on medical school. Dr. Maas had encouraged him at every step.
A few years later he had run into Sere when he got mugged and landed back in the
hospital. They've been friends ever since.
Gift - A gift of healing that has apparently been with him since childhood, only unknown to him.
He went into the medical profession, perhaps a subconscious career choice. After the extreme
trauma of his 'encounter' with Ciara Abernathy he has begun to struggle with a new gift... some
kind of kinesis. He's been shattering mirrors.
